WE TRAVELLED FROM THE EARTH TO THE MOON!!

I want to congratulate the children of Year 2A and Year 2B for their great work and behaviour. They got lots of handfuls of marbles last week and filled up the marble container. So ... we got ready to take off and counted down 

10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, BLAST OFF!! 

It was our first journey in outer space and we landed right on the Moon. It was so beautiful!


CONGRATULATIONS EVERYONE ON YOUR GREAT WORK AND BEHAVIOUR!!

I CAN WRITE SENTENCES ON MY OWN

We have learnt that there are FOUR different types of words. We have to choose words of each type to build sentences in English. These are the words we have used this week.

LOTS OF HANDFULS OF MARBLES

Last week Year 2A and Year 2B got lots of handfuls of marbles. They behaved in an excellent way and worked really hard. 
Well done everyone!!

We are about to travel to the Moon!

As astronauts...

We will travel from the Earth to the Moon.
We will travel from the Moon to Mercury.
We will travel from Mercury to Venus.
We will travel from Venus to Mars.
We will travel from Mars to Jupiter.
We will travel from Jupiter to Saturn.
We will travel from Saturn to Uranus.
We will travel from Uranus to Neptune.
And we will travel from Neptune back to Earth.

We will celebrate a huge party at school!! 





NUMBERS 1 to 100

We have learnt how to write numbers in English from 1 to 100. We have counted up to a hundred in groups, played Bingo and practised the spelling forms in the computer room. We had great fun!

THE DOLPHIN POOL


Wilf and Wilma went to the dolphin pool. They looked at the dolphins, played with them and gave them some fish. Then, they looked at the killer-whale. Wilma gave it a fish. The killer-whale jumped up and went splash. Do you think Wilf and Wilma got wet?



THIS OLD MAN


We have learnt a traditional English song about a very playful old man.
Everyone loved it.

NO HARM DONE!

We have learnt a new poem called "No harm done". The children wrote it down in their notebooks, drew a picture and said it by heart in front of everyone with the help of a magnet girl. They did great presentations! Here is the poem.
 

NO HARM DONE

When I went out
the other day,
my head fell off
and rolled away.
When I noticed
it was gone,
I picked it up
and put it on.

ON THE SAND

Biff and Chip played on the sand and they made a sandcastle on Dad. They had an ice cream. They looked at the go-carts and donkeys. When they came back, Dad was hiding. Where was he?


 

LET´S START FROM THE BEGINNING!

In this blog I will be presenting all the work we do within my Literacy classes on a weekly basis. I hope you find it useful and it helps your children enjoy the English language.

This year we have decided to motivate our children by being astronauts. We will travel through the SOLAR SYSTEM and explore its planets.
